About this deal

If your REALLY talented and have experience you can mix up a batch of roto cast resin and brush it into those seams. This process of vitrification is key to cryonics, allowing the human body to cool without experiencing the cell damage that can accompany crystallization. To put it crudely, think of freezer burn but inside of you. Cryonics companies avoid freezing by replacing a patient’s blood with a cryoprotectant, a liquid that will become viscous as it cools but won’t form crystals that could damage the tender cells and tissues of the human body.

Here is the info regarding the 3 sections. I would recommend screwing the sections down 1st, before you start with the bondo. Make sure the HIC is secure and in the correct position. ( once you start the bondo process it's a pain to move him around ). You can also use caulking if you so desire, use what you have. Bring the galaxy far, far away into your living space with this extraordinary 3D model of Han Solo in carbonite. Perfect for Star Wars fans, collectors, or anyone who appreciates exceptional craftsmanship, this model promises to be a stunning addition to your display or a fantastic gift for a fellow enthusiast. However, Tatooine has longer days due to having two suns, so their year is only 304 days. Solo was frozen on Cloud City on the planet Bespin which follows the Galactic Standard Year of 12 months, and then moved to Tatooine, which has a different year length, so it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how long Han Solo was in carbonite since. Here are all the facts we have. When And Why Was Han Solo Frozen In Carbonite? High-Quality Detailing: Each part of this 3D model captures the intricate details of Han Solo's frozen form, including the lifelike texture, facial expression, and carbonite freezing effects. These parts were secured with 2-part epoxy along with various washers, spacers, and pushpins. We even took the head from a kazoo that had an intricate and functional-looking fan pattern. Unlike his costars, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, Ford was only contracted for one Star Wars sequel. The actor was unsure about reprising his role for Return of the Jedi due to his growing popularity and his involvement in the Indiana Jones franchise. At one point, Ford had hoped that Han would be killed off in the sequel through some kind of sacrificial and heroic way. Lucas and the Star Wars writers wanted to keep their options open. By freezing Han in carbonite, they left open the opportunity for the character to return but they also planted a seed in case Ford never signed on for Return of the Jedi. The dish soap breaks the surface tension and allows for the top surface to be wiped clean easily, while the paint collects in the recess areas. Three different colors provide visual complexity and can be added or removed as necessary. Once the paint is mixed and ready, have a clean water cup and paper towels ready to go.

The HIC is an eye catching prop, you don't want to half ass it and have regrets. Take your time and do it the right way, this will eliminate having to redo things, and just makes life easier. Ok gang, after completing yet another LONG run of Han Solo's it's time I started a helpful hint builders thread. Many of the members here have asked me to post a blog thread which will help them in their journey of building the incredible Han in Carbonite prop. Weathering the surface can be accomplished with a simple wash application of acrylic craft paint mixed with liquid dish soap and water. A ratio of about 5 parts paint to 1 part liquid dish soap to 3 parts water makes a terrific wash formula for any modelling project. Take the paper towel and begin wiping the top of the surface in a circular motion. Change out the paper towel often as it becomes saturated. If the paint begins drying and not lifting up, dip your paper towel in the water cup to slightly moisten it. Don’t soak the paper towel or it will draw all the paint up.

The panels also include these aluminum clips. A sheet of aluminum from the hardware store is a low-cost rendition of these and once they’re folded, they can easily be fixed to the panel with a screw. According to the transcripts from Once Upon a Galaxy, the shooting script as written offered no dialogue to clear this up. Nor did it really explain why Han, Leia, or Chewie were there at all. Kershner explained the issue to Harrison Ford as follows: "You see Harrison, one thing I discovered that is going to affect us crucially is the fact that you [Han] have no way of knowing that you are the one they are going to put in the carbon freeze. They bring all three of you in. But you don't know anything." Here's Irvin Kershner, from Star Wars: The Annotated Screenplays: "We tried it again and again with different lines and finally Harrison says, 'I give up, I don't know what the hell to say.' Finally, Harrison says, 'Let's do it one more time and that's it.' So she says 'I love you, and he replies, 'I know.' And it just came out of him and I said 'Cut!'" The Han Solo in Carbonite has and always will be one of my favorite props from the Star Wars saga. I wanted to create a fun, affordable prop for everyone to enjoy. Here is my building tips that I hope will serve you well on your build.

The LEDs that drive the large green light and the digit lights are embedded in boxes made from foam core. The inside of the boxes are lined with aluminum tape to help diffuse and bounce the light inside. I started by looking into using an Arduino Uno which could then control each of the clusters. After researching varius options i opted for a MAX7219 chip. This is a LED driver where individual LEDs can be addrerssed. It is easy to connect it to the Arduino as it only requires three pins. It has low power consumption as technically only one LED is on at time albeit for a short period of time giving the effect of all being on simultaneously. In this picture you will see the proper placement of the feet. Again, epoxy and a little silicone. This step is VERY easy.

Why were they there, anyway? Kershner's biggest motivation for "fixing" the carbon freeze scene was that he was worried there was zero explanation offered as to why Han Solo was being frozen in front of Leia and Chewie. The director was concerned the audience had no idea what Han, Leia, and Chewie knew of Lando and Vader's plans at that moment in the story. That’s how Han Solo, still frozen in carbonite, ended up on Tatooine, where he thawed out of the carbonite in Return of the Jedi, happening around 4 ABY. How Long Was Han Solo Frozen In Carbonite?
